E. Pellicci founded 1900

A still in the family business. Haunt of the rich and famous (and the locals). Chatting to the super happy owner, Nevio (pictured). They’re from Toscana. A small village called Casciana di Camporgiano near Lucca.

Chatted to mamma (Maria), cousin Tony. Told me about the Italian master carpenter who made and fitted the interior in the 40s. He had a workroom in the back passageway. Now all Grade 2 listed.

Been looking through their photo album. Anyone and everybody’s been here from Harry Rednapp to Jonathan Ross & Anna Friel.

Heard about this place years ago. Can’t believe we’re here. Cuppa tea and an espresso.

Breakfast coffee at Allpress (Kiwis out there will be impressed). Preferred Ozone yesterday. So had our coffee kicks.

Walked from Shoreditch to Bethnall Green, via Brick Lane. Then to Whitechapel. Well earned lunch at an Ottolenghi style restaurant. Now off to friends in Pinner. Good walking weather.
