How Does a Sloth cross the road?

A Two Toed Sloth was very slowly attempting to cross the road in front of the tour bus......our guide got out and carefully lifted him to the other side. Notice the algae on his head; it is normal for that green algae to be there.....it makes for good camouflage.  It was unusual to see him during the day since he is nocturnal.....but our tour guide reminded us that sometime we get up in the middle of the night to get a snack, so why can't the sloth get up in the middle of his sleep? It made total sense to me. I had to blip him today because there is little or no change that we will see another. I was sitting in the front of the bus so i was fortunate to get the shot. Bikerbear got a great shot too. Hopefully she add it in extras tomorrow.
I have lots of extras to add too.....but everyone here is having trouble loading their photos....so I am just going to try to load one.
We left our hotel in san jose, costa rica this morning and traveled east to a lodge at 150 ft elevation. It is a nice place with good food and lots of birds. I will add a bird shot tomorrow. Thanks for visiting. If you want to all the blip shots taken by us on this tour click on the tab: cr18
