Star gazer

We have had a wonderful evening at the Keilder Observatory in spite of torrential rain preventing any actual star gazing. The evening was led by a group of very enthusiastic ‘geeky ‘ young people who were extremely knowledgeable and obviously loved their subject. The rock is a slice of a palasite meteorite , one of several on display and we have seen some amazing star photography. I find it incredible that there can be any doubt that there is life out there with apparently an average planet per star and trillions ( or more) stars out there. Fascinating stuff :)
I had hoped for a more dramatic 1500 blip but this will have to do!
