Today was my mum's 60th birthday party. Planned for ages, and all in hand - or so we thought when we arrived in WW late last night. So we thought after we'd set up the bunting and tables. So we thought until three hours before the start when we realised that mum hadn't arranged a cake!

She wasn't bothered but you can't have a birthday party without cake! So off we went on a mission to surprise her with secret birthday cake, with limited resources and pushed for time... fortunately, we pulled a little something out the bag.

It was a lovely party (as always with these things, many many people I've not seen since childhood with the usual exclamations) and mum had a really nice time. So all's well that ends well!
