Physalis.

The skeleton left as the outer shell decays away I always find interesting.  These have suffered rather more than we would have liked.  I think next year I will take them into the greenhouse for the decay stage.  The weather hasn't done them any favours.

An extremely dull day, I needed the lights on in the living room for most of the daylight hours.  So this is an indoor shot with no special lighting.

Physalis are members of the Solanaceae like Tomatoes & Potatoes.  They get their name from Phusallis Greek for bladder.  There are almost 90 members of the Solanaceae most from the Americas.
