SILLY PRICES

Off to the match this afternoon - Newcastle United v Bournemouth.  Before kick off wreaths were laid, the Last Post was played and there was a minutes silence to mark 100 years since the end of WW1.  You could hear a pin drop during the silence.  Very moving.

I have added an Extra  - a collage of the scenes before kick off - the background is some of the knitted poppies which form a carpet outside Eldon Square shopping centre.

On to the match -  it was a good one.  Newcastle scored early - on the 6th minute.  The score at half time was Newcastle 2  Bournemouth 1 - and that was the final result.  It was a very promising display and hopefully the team can keep up the momentum and get some more wins under their belt.  Howay The Lads!

I did some shopping in Waitrose after the match and also mooched around Fenwicks.  I went down into the basement where the " Christmas Shop " has been set up. It shares the space with the kitchenware dept and as I was passing through I noticed the two items in my blip shot .  A kettle and toaster - part of Dolce & Gabanna’s new range in collaboration with Smeg. Would you believe they cost £399.99 each. ( 458 Euros / $520 ).  I rather like them but there's no way I would spend so much money on a kettle or a toaster. I have tagged my blip for Silly Saturday - hosted by admirer
