Bright and cheerful

The bright yellow flowers of this self seeded Bidens ferulifolia (also known as fern-leaved beggar-ticks) continue to provide a splash of cheery colour in one of our patio pots. It was a lovely morning, but I was hard at work, and I only had a few minutes at lunchtime to grab this shot before going to the dentist to have my canine tooth prepared for a crown. It wasn't as bad as I feared - my new dentist seems unwilling to smile but was gentle and I didn't experience any pain. He put a temporary filling over my truncated tooth  but I'm afraid it only lasted a couple of hours! Still, less than a fortnight before I go back for the second stage.
