Still autumn

Although many of the trees are now stripped of leaves, there are still pockets of autumn colour here in Northumberland. I blipped this tree when Mr hazelh and I walked along the South Tyne to pick up the papers for my parents from the village filling station/shop.

As was the case this time last year, I packed my Christmas cards for this visit to my parents' house, and this afternoon I started writing them.

We've had a jolly evening during which I showed my father some salmon fishing videos on YouTube (including this fabulous BBC excerpt with grizzly bears) and we all watched Dad's Army. My not-so-little sister, who has now returned home, left us a delicious beef and sweet potato stew for dinner.

Exercise today: walking (12,718 steps).
