Dexter's Private Tabbycat Club

The most exciting thing that happened to Dexter this past weekend is that he received a huge box that was ordered on the Internet. The box was perfect! It was just the right size! A cat and almost all of his stuff could fit inside. In fact, a small family of cats could probably live there.

My husband, that old softie, populated the box with blankets and pillows and towels, and Dexter likes to hang out both on top of the box and inside it. Here is a view of Dexter luxuriating inside his Private Tabbycat Club.

Alas, there is some sad news to share, however. The adorable little compact dryer that arrived in this marvelous box began making a weird rubbing noise in hour number two of its service to us, much to my deep chagrin. (For we have been without a dryer for long this past month, and the laundry pile, it grows scarily big.)

My husband took the back off the little dryer to investigate, but the solution wasn't obvious. So guess what: the dryer goes back,** and so does this perfectly good box! Sorry, Dexter. We'll order you a replacement box!

The song to accompany this image of a gentleman in his club: the B-52's with Love Shack. Oh, if you see a faded sign at the side of the road. . . .

**Update, added later: the little dryer is fine, and it will get to stay, after all! So Dexter gets to keep his marvelous box!
