Abstract Still Life...

...for AbstractThursday. We got some snow last night; nothing that was enough to disrupt anything, but it was enough to cover everything with a light coat. I stopped at the Park this morning and took some shots at one of the playgrounds, then picked this photo & played around with filters until I found something I liked. (I used a cut out filter). Too cold to be out for long, so I've spent time finishing the laundry, tidying up the house, and looking through my holiday cookbooks for a holiday cookie recipe. I need to make 2 dozen cookies for our church cookie-bake fundraiser that's coming up on Dec. 8th & 9th. The volunteers bake cookies, which are then divided up into packages of mixed varieties & sold. Last year I made a cookie that had pieces of peppermint candy in them--they were delicious, if I do say so myself--but the peppermint melts as they bake, so they didn't really look a lot like "holiday cookies" per se.  (other volunteers made choc. chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, brownies, etc.--lots of variety) Some of the people who bought the assorted packages of cookies last year complained that many of the cookies didn't LOOK like "Special Holiday Cookies", so this year the committee is asking that the cookies LOOK like "Special Holiday Cookies", whatever that means.....like they have to be green and red??? or be cut-out cookies shaped like Christmas-related things???  It's called the "Cookie-Bake Fundraiser" that just happens to take place in December, not the "Special Holiday Cookie-Bake"!  Maybe it's just me, but I figure if you want to buy cookies that are already baked, and you're buying the ones made by VOLUNTEERS, for a good cause, & they taste good, there's no need to be critical that they don't LOOK the way you think a "Holiday Cookie" should look. I'm interested to see what you all think....tacky complaint or a legitimate one??
Many thanks to Ingeborg for hosting AT!! :))
