Resilient orchid

I’ve never had an orchid that has hung on to life long enough to flower for a second year. Or perhaps it has been me, thinking that the little stick looks decidedly non-living and giving up too soon.

At any rate, here is my blip of a few buds; I’m not sure whether to water the orchid now or to simply ignore it, as usual. Any advice?
