Mmm, pie

In the north east, corned beef pie is a delicacy.  I've been to several events this year where they've been on the buffet.  However, I can't eat it any more because of having stopped eating meat.

Not to miss out, I thought I'd make a vegan "corned beef" pie.  I used Vivera steaks as the "meat", breaking them up with the bear claws (see extra) then marinated them in soy sauce, mushroom ketchup and liquid smoke to recreate that salty corned beef taste.

The finished pie was a pretty good replica of a corned beef pie, in my opinion.  Mr Pandammonium had seconds, which I always take to be a good sign.  I left the rest of my half in the fridge overnight, and the rest of it is today's lunch (or dinner, as we say in the north east).
