Before the snow

Johnshaven Harbour (South of Aberdeen) this afternoon. It had been cold and sunny, and at the time the sun is just beginning to set. It is also high tide. I prefer to see harbours full of water, low tide leaves the boats high and dry. That does not feel like their natural environment.

The weather is very peaceful at this time, but it is not to last. On the way back to Aberdeen we stopped off at Stonehaven. The sun had set and it was getting quite cold. In view of the temperature I decided I should pass on the ice cream. Maybe next time. We met a colleague who was out with his tripod. I expect he got some good photographs.

As we drove back to Aberdeen and Westhill it started to snow. By late evening there was a distinct sprinkling of snow, even though not very deep, just about an inch.
