Whitley Bay

It was so nice to have nothing specific to get up for.  We all had long lies.  The boys headed to church with Auntie E.  Uncle J went for a run and I lay in bed  and read my book – what a treat.

After a fabulous Sunday lunch we drove out to the coast and had a wander at Whitley Bay, taking a peek into the refurbished Spanish City.

Our next stop was St James’ Park, as BB was meeting up with a friend and his dad, and was going to the match (Newcastle v Wolves) with them.  Once BB was deposited, we went off to pick up BB’s cousin H, who is a student, but was spending Sunday night at home.

It was then back home for refreshments, cake and mince pies.  I do feel like I have eaten my way through the weekend.  BB was coming home with his friend, so TT and I drove home ahead of the football fans.  This allowed me to get on with a few chores and to pop out to the late opening co-op for a  few essentials.

BB was full of excitement when he got home, but was tired. Last week the Etihad, this week St James’ Park.  He’s collecting football grounds!

The waves were really crashing in at Whitley bay and the sun was shining on St Mary’s lighthouse.
