Away ............ Finally

I got up at 3 am .... after 2 hours in bed and got the final packing finished, had a coffee and jumped into the taxi to the airport at 4:30 am!
6 am flight to Amsterdam where we had a 3.5 hours layover.
We went to the new lounge in the non Schengen area that just opened a week ago. WOW, huge and really impressive! This could be the nicest lounge I have ever been to!
We had some food then went for a stroll as Neil's phone was dying. He bought a cheap phone to keep him going for the next weeks.
At 12 pm we walked to the gate and got onto our flight to Fortaleza.
Almost 10 hours flight.
It was ok - we slept a good part of it, as we were exhausted from the last week.
In Fortaleza we had to collect our bags and check them in for our connecting domestic flight to Salvador.
In Brazil the pace of everything is much slower, and I worried that we will make it in the 1.5 hours we had.
In the end we waited at least 30 min for boarding before we finally got on the plane. We arrived in Salvador with a 30 min delay  got our bags and looked fo an Uber TAxi.
The local taxi guy approached us trying to talk us into a discounted rate on the official airport taxis. I understood him!! I was so chuffed!
In the end I negotiated the price down to 80 Reals and we took a ride to the Hotel. I did not fancy to wait for an Uber, I just wanted to get out of my shoes and jeans and have a caipirinha somewhere.
Our Hotel is amazing! An old convent in the old town of Salvador!! Really beautiful!
We dropped our bags, changed and went out to find a bar in the streets.
We have been 23 hours on the road!!
Up the cobbled streets, we found a bar on the corner where we got what we wanted!
After 2 Caipirinhas each, we made our way back to the Hotel and fell into our huge bed (2.5m x 2m!!!)

Blipping the new KLM lounge .... no photos from Salvador yet :)
