Light of the World

I confess I am really not feeling Christmassy this year due to all that's been going on with my Uncle, my Mum and at work, but I managed to go to the Christingle Service tonight without getting upset :)

A brief explanation of the meaning of the Christingle, for those who don't know:

An orange represents the world.with red ribbon/tape representing the love and blood of Christ.

Four cocktail sticks hold dried fruits and sweets which are symbols of God's creation (some say they represent the four seasons).

When the candle is lit it symbolises Jesus the light of the world, who brings hope to people living in darkness.

In previous years, I have helped to make them in the morning ready for the service, but it was not really in my mind this year.

Last night my boiler broke down again :(  However, it is now working again as the plumber came first thing this morning - and he has shown me what to do when the water pressure is low again - but says that he will have to take it apart in order to find out what is causing this problem...  He will make a date after Christmas....

Then I popped to see friend K, as she is still unable to drive due to her sight issues.  We had a lovely catch up and then I came home.

Wishing you All a Very Peaceful Christmas Folks X
