About the blingiest thing around here is the wee faux tree. So here's a close-up of a portion of it with a good deal of intentional camera movement, etc. You can actually distinguish one of my favorite ornaments - the little red & gold drum. Which was, if I remember correctly, given to #1 son by a schoolteacher at some point in his early school career. Maybe when he was about 7 or 8?
Today is my father's birthday. He would have been 108. But he's been gone since 1984 when he died at 73 - of emphysema - caused by smoking starting at about the age of 12! He did switch to a pipe in late adulthood, but the damage was already done.
