First sunset of the year

Last night's rather low-key/dimly lit celebrations are backblipped.

Today we drove up to the Peña Escrita, a now-closed nature park (literally ... at the end of 15 km of very dodgy, potholed mountain road was a locked gate). Amazing views from up there; despite the remoteness, vertiginous ziggurat-like terraces are being used to cultivate fruit trees and vines(see extras). Once again, we met no traffic (luckily) once out of built-up areas.

There really is an incredible amount of fruit grown around here, most of it not under plastic and much of it on ridiculously steep slopes that can't be cultivated mechanically. I don't know how they make it pay.

Officially the temperature was 19C; it felt hotter than that, with not a breath of wind, warmer than down on the coast. After S had driven back down, mostly in second gear and engine-braking all the way, we had a bit of a rest before walking down to the beach to see the sunset. It wasn't spectacular, so I decided on a bit of long exposure/intentional camera movement, my first go at this on the beach. I like the effect, which is why the terraces have been relegated to extras.

Another quiet evening at home, brightly illuminated this time.
