Tweedy's avatar retires

I posted my first blip on 2nd January 2015. Setting up my profile I took a quick snap of a keyring I’d been given for Christmas 2014 to use as my avatar. I’ve never used it as a keyring as it is too nice – lovely felted wool which would soon get horribly matted and grubby in my bag. It comes out every year to sit on the Christmas tree.

I know that by tradition Christmas decorations stay up till twelfth night but 2nd January is my usual day for taking them down. And as I put my little Christmas keyring away for another year I feel it’s done its bit as my profile picture. If anyone is interested in having a look I've replaced it with a more relevant picture of the Harris Tweed hallmark sewn onto a very nice cushion which I bought several years ago in Inverie on the Knoydart peninsula.

Family visitors for lunch today, the last day of the holidays for everyone who works. I always found returning to work after new year excruciating and I’m grateful that I no longer have to. Looking forward to prolonging the festivities for one more day. Then I intend to get into a different regime – one which involves more exercise and fewer chocolates.

Although it’s four years since I started blipping I won’t reach the milestone for a few more days as I had a couple of unscheduled breaks in 2017. What an enjoyable discipline it is.
