Dog controller!

Had a great walk today along the River Wharfe on our usual Strid circuit. The blue skies and sun promised didn't materialise but neither did the early frost.
There were six of us and four dogs - instead of the original 12 and 6 dogs - a perfect number for walking in pairs and swapping partners and conversation as we went.

Here, at the halfway toilet break, Wilsden Walker was left in charge of all the dogs. She had more control over them than when she tried to get a shot of us all at the viewpoint shelter (extra) earlier!

We saw a Heron en route and two on the way back and followed the Advent trail which was still in place. Answering the questions and singing the songs as required - Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! See Wilsden Walker:

After, the tradition is to go to the Bolton Abbey Tea Shop.
All change. New owners, from our village originally and currently from Cullingworth ( just a mile away), now allow dogs inside to a small side room. (Good job there weren't the original 12 of us!) The dogs, who can be very lively, were very well behaved even with another dog already in there.
The cream scones were just as good as usual and we all looked on with envy at the banana bagel that one of our number tried!

Really enjoyed this first walk of the New Year for me. Good to be out and the company was as good as the scones!
