Labour of love (or not)

An unscheduled and expensive trip in to Berwick this afternoon, to the dentist's. On Boxing Day I thought I was chewing an extra-crispy piece of roast potato, but it turned out to be part of a tooth! Yesterday, a large filling fell out of another tooth. Seemed prudent to get both teeth sorted out before either deteriorated any further. Oh joy...

My 'jumper' is growing very very slowly and, on occasion, I seem to spend more time sorting out dropped stitches than knitting. Can't imagine why anyone finds knitting a relaxing occupation! Anyway, I shall continue in the hope of producing a wearable garment, if not in quite the colour I thought it would be. The lady in the shop ordered my wool from a printed catalogue, and the colour in the picture was much more orange (like the 'swirly' bag at the right) than the wool that arrived! C'est la vie. The book was a birthday gift from Lucy, and I shall be consulting it in earnest in the next day or two, before I need to shape the the armholes. Being somewhat vertically challenged, I have no option but to adapt the pattern...
