Gillipaw's Journal

By Gillipaw

Ionic

The columns on the portico of the "Church on the Hill", a restaurant and bar in Langside, Glasgow. The former Langside Hill Free Church of Scotland, completed in 1896, the last Classical church to be built in Glasgow.

It was designed by Alexander Skirving, an assistant to Alexander "Greek" Thomson.

Bright winter light and blue sky again today, still very slippery on the pavements.
