Last of the Christmas freezer bits!

It has generally been a ‘bits’ kind of day. Clearing up the last Xmas bits, lunchtime we had what we’ve been calling a ‘bits’ lunch - which was scraping together the last cheese, crackers, pickles and nuts. Finally, for dinner we cooked all the Indian/Chinese nibbles from the freezer. There were loads. So no proper substantial meal today, just an eating up the bits day!

We did do other things though. Jon took H to have a hair cut, while I gave the bathroom a proper good clean. After coffee, Jon, Henry and I went in to Cromer and after an hour of stroking and prodding, we chose and ordered a new carpet for our lounge. It is one big expense on a list of many things we would like. I’m excited to have a lovely new carpet, but will worry about the cost anyway, just because that’s what I do.

It didn’t stop me spending though. We then went to Homebase where Jon needed electrical bits. I bought a lampshade for a standard lamp I’ve had for a while, then later on a lampshade for our cloakroom-to-be.

Jon and Henry fitted a load of sockets in the garage while Dan cleaned his rug using the carpet cleaner. He was quite enterprising as I didn’t have the instruction, so he googled the machine and found them.

We are now relaxing, and will watch my new DVD Mama Mia 2 when I’ve done this blip!
