Life through the lens...

Adel Dam surprise.

A lovely day spent at Golden Acre Park, and Adel Dam Nature Reserve.
Just a brief glimpse of sun.

The bird hide by the marsh was busy with photographers, and the grey squirrels seem to have taken over the ground round the feeders.
Never seen so many.

So we moved on to the hide over looking the lake, and had it all to ourselves.
No sign of the kingfishers, but a lot of tits, on the feeders, as well as a nuthatch ( see extra)
We just decided to move on, when suddenly a flash of turquoise blue flew across the lake.
The kingfisher was back.
We watched it dive and catch a small fish.
Unfortunately too far away for a photo.
It sat up in the trees at the far side of the lake but didn’t come any closer.

It was then that we were taken by surprise as the robin flew in and straight past my nose!
It stopped for a few minutes to feed on some bird seed that someone had put on the windowsill.
So I’m sorry but I just had to have him for my Blip today. (Just two days after my last robin photo.)

We finished off a very enjoyable morning with chicken and vegetable soup at the cafe.
Perfect.

Extra photo of the robin in the window, and also a nut hatch on the feeders.

Many thanks to Anni for giving me a heart for last weeks Flower Friday. I feel very honoured.
