Old Crane

We managed to do some jobs this morning then went for a walk on Portland this afternoon.
Just finished reading The Ballroom by Anna Hope for our book group - really enjoyed it though that’s perhaps not the right word ; it was a fascinating insight into the treatment of the depressed, mentally ill and poor people in asylums at the turn of the 20th century . Set in Yorkshire and touching on eugenics, it made for a fascinating novel .
However, the same cannot be said for The Favourite- another trip to the cinema and although Olivia Coleman was indeed brilliant, we couldn’t warm to the film as a whole.
