Winter wishes

A super glorious frosty day which started with a trip to take the car for a service and continued with a coffee and teacake in the nearby Sainsbury’s while I waited for Susan to pick me up.

The afternoon ended collecting the car and finding out that the two front tyres were illegal having worn on the inside tread and wall. Bit annoyed about that as the car had only done 27,000 miles in 3 years. I was expecting more wear out of them. A suggestion that it was my driving that may have been responsible didn’t go down well. The suggestion that alignment may have been damaged by potholes was more feasible but not welcome. No point in buying expensive tyres if they are liable to so much damage.

Thankfully we didn’t need to find a new fridge freezer today. Last night, just after I’d posted my blip we discovered a puddle underneath the appliance. We dumped everything in the chest freezer and other fridge and went to bed expecting to wake up to big puddles. No such thing. All dry. So we’re taking the opportunity to defrost and clean it all up.

Between these bookends I churned through lots of stuff including booking a ticket to the Photography Show in March. Doreen continues to make slow progress, getting up today forcthe first time in a week.

On the way to collect the car we walked along the River Medway from Allington into town and back. Great walk in frosty conditions.

Chris, De’Shaun and Landon arrived at Heathrow from California this morning to attend Pa’s funeral on Wednesday in Devon. They’ll fly home on Friday so no real chance to see them which does seem rather unsettling. Landon has had to have a set of winter clothes for these few days. Rather different to Southern California.

Today’s blip of a wedding dress required little processing as it was a white dress in a largely black shop background. The theme for today was Hope and I dare say this is a great symbol for hope for a future life together.

I rather liked the extra on the Medway at Allington too, but it’s no good in Mono.

Thank you to Jensphotos for hosting.
