Ancient and modern

Along this stretch of the ring road close to Norwich city centre, is a large portion of the original city walls. At lunchtime we walked out to a flower shop on the ring road, and even down a few small streets we hadn't discovered before. Quaint Victorian terrace, worthy of a blip if I'd thought of it at the time! This was looking back into the city from the other side. What I do notice is the pollution. The air is full of exhaust fumes, and Norwich is a city which still allows a lot of through traffic. Very different to Cambridge.

I'm told from calls home that the carpet hasn't arrived. A raft of excuses from Carpetright. Jon is not happy and neither am I. It should come tomorrow. In the meantime none of our furniture is usable as nothing can be accessed, and the carpet has been taken up. Even accessing the keys to next door has proved difficult. It looks like the weekend is planned, of relaxing at home is on hold.
