Sleepyhead

Mute Swan on Kinghorn Loch.

The resident pair on this loch generally keep well in view within the open water. It was therefore a surprise to see this one lurking rather immobile within a side-pool in front of the hide. After about an hour, it went to sleep.

Some light was shed on the situation upon returning to the car park where there were three adult swans (one keeping its distance). It rather looks as if there is going to be a territorial dispute as to who will get to breed on this small loch. I hope to return tomorrow so will monitor the situation.
