Calne (Wednesday 30th January 2019)

Today I turned my attention to the internet side of things in the studio as a necessary bit of kit in the form of a powerline with a wi-fi hotspot had been delivered in the morning. From the quick installation guide you would think it was just a matter of plugging it in and pressing a couple of buttons, but although it claims to be fully connected and working, I have yet to get it to load a page successfully, either wired or wireless.
I've made a temporary fix by raiding an old powerline which works from another room, so the studio Blu-ray player now has functioning apps, including Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Why can't things just work?
While I was in the studio battling with gadgets and cables any doubts I had about the surround sound system were blown away by playing Dark Side Of The Moon in the SACD 5.1 mix made by James Guthrie in 2003 which used all five speakers to full advantage. I'd only ever heard it in stereo before.
To clear my head I was tempted out to enjoy the blue skies in the afternoon and walked into Calne via the river/canal path and Castlefields Park, and when I reached the church I found Perry in his favourite spot near the top of the tower, last blipped in October (He was an Extra more recently). The adjacent churchyard is in Extras.
