Sgwarnog: In the Field

Back on home turf I elected for a grand circumnavigation of the moor, walking along Baildon Bank, up Shipley Glen, along the moor edge past Glovershaw to Birch Close Lane, Weecher, Faweather, Sconce Lane and back across the moor to the village.

It was sunny but icy, and there were definite signs of an increase in bird activity compared to the past couple of weeks. Curlew, Lapwing, Golden Plover, Fieldfare and Kestrel were all in evidence at the far end of the moor, along with this solitary male Stonechat. I bumped into one Reed Bunting on the way back across but no Skylarks yet, although I didn't walk through their prime territory.

Today's miles walked: 6.6. Walking total: 151.1/1000
