A beginning and an ending

A new month and a sad day, hearing the news of Jeremy Hardy's death. Although we never knowingly met, I was at Southampton University at the same time as him and followed his career with interest. His politically principled humour always made me laugh, though there was often a serious point behind it. The News Quiz won't ever be quite the same without him.
