A day in the life

Wind of change

My snowdrops are a bit later than usual, and a lot later than snowdrops planted in a more sheltered, sunny place. Mine are in the shadow of an ancient stone wall but they are worth waiting for, they signal in an obvious way that the cycle of the year has reached its preparatory stage.

The little snow we've had is gone and today is rather sunny and windy so the soggy ground will soon dry up. Usually there's going to be one or two backlashes before spring has clearly entered but I love this time of year, the anticipation and joy of life. There's no turning back.
