THE MARK OF A "BLIPPING WONDERFUL" HUSBAND!

How many husbands would leave a vase of dead tulips on a windowsill, having bought his wife tulips and daffodils for her return from a few days away?  Mine!!

Mr. HCB told me that he didn’t throw the “past their best” tulips away, because he just knew I would want to use them for a Blip - and how right he was.

Today, after a great service at Church, we could have gone out looking for dereliction, as we normally would, but as Mr. HCB’s back is still quite sore, I told him that I would be happy to use the “derelict” tulips that he had so kindly NOT thrown into the compost heap.  Mind you, I did him a favour, as his team are playing football and he is now sitting, with his feet up watching them.

We also opened the box of Black Magic chocolates last night - to celebrate my return - so it seemed rude not to have one or two to accompany our cup of coffee this afternoon and then I had a play with the tulips.  Even though they are all what some would call “dead” I think they are still beautiful and especially loved the way the leaves were curling up at the edges.

This, therefore, is my contribution for Derelict Sunday - and I have no doubt that we I will be enjoying these for some time to come.  These can stay in the conservatory and I still have two vases of tulips and another of daffodils to enjoy in the kitchen and all thanks to Mr. HCB - what a star he is!

“A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone.
It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose.
          It doesn’t have to.
               It is different.
And there’s room in the garden for every flower.
You didn’t have to struggle
     to make your face different
          than anyone else’s on earth.
               It just is.
You are unique because you were created that way.”
