Transient beauty

This astrantia flower is now almost three weeks in our house and while definitely ageing, certainly ageing beautifully. In Dutch these are called 'Zeeuws Knoopje' = button from Zeeland (province in The Netherlands), because their details look a bit like the jewellery buttons on traditional headdresses from Zeeland. I hadn't noticed the shiny nectar ends of the stamens until I saw the shot on the laptop.
