Happy Valentine's Day!

Dear Diary,

Henry was a big help this year making the Valentines I sent to friends and family.  I haven't made Valentines in years and years.  These are pop-up cards.  The little heart inside the cutout heart is wound up and the card closed.  Then, when people open the card, the heart spins around!  We had a lot of fun making them and Emerson was quality control specialist, sniffing them to be sure everything was just right.  It was a group effort!

Off to Portland again this morning to attend the Art in Bloom show at the Portland Museum of Art.  They are holding a screening of the film Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse which I am anxious to see.  I visited Monet's garden at Giverny in France when I was there in 2012 and, of course, I have my own garden as an inspiration.  It will be so nice to see flowers blooming after our snowfall of 10 inches yesterday!
