Dirty Habit

Met a good chum for a catch-up lunch today at an ancient Kentish inn, dating back to the 13th century, and bizarrely named The Dirty Habit. It is near Maidstone, sited alongside the old Pilgrims Way, in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, and was used by pilgrims on their way to Canterbury for centuries. It is reputed that King James II stayed at the inn in 1388 whilst on his way to France via Canterbury and Dover. Steeped in history, a warm welcome and good food.
