Early

Not including the mysterious butterfly in the fridge episode from last month, this is my first proper record of the year, a single Small Tortoiseshell next to the allotments on Woodhouse Moor, Leeds.

This is my first ever February sighting and a good few weeks earlier than my usual first record (which I recapped in detail last year), but it felt warm enough so I was alert to the possibility.
