Reeds in Late Sun

Although another day of sunshine, today was 20 degrees cooler. I went out later on hoping for some colour in the sky, but sadly no. I got interested in shooting back lit trees against the sun, however I wasn't happy with the edits I did. I need to work harder at that kind of shot.

Then I became aware of the side lighting from the sun low in the sky and focused on these reeds. I liked the texture the light gives to the snow and the colour it brings out in the stalks.

Interestingly, with only the taller tufts sticking out of the snow, there is quite a bit of separation from foreground to background, aiding the feeling of recession.
