Life through the lens...

A rainbow of crocuses

Another glorious day.  Just can't believe it is still February. The temp has reached 16C.
A perfect day for a visit to Roundhay Park to see the crocuses.
We weren't disappointed. They were stunning.
The sun was shining when we left home, but as we drove down into Leeds it looked slightly foggy. However it had cleared before we reached Roundhay.
A coffee, and then set off walking. First a visit to Canal Gardens. Not much in flower there, but they looked very neat and tidy, and I always love to see the fountains in the Alhambra Gardens. Beautiful today with the splashing water sparkling like diamonds in the sunshine.
This was followed by a walk round the top lake, past the Castle Folly, and through the woods, then along the shore of the bottom lake, back up to the Mansion House, and back to the car.

My collage shows some of the display of crocuses.
The fountains in the upper lake.
The Mansion House, built in the early 1800's by Thomas Nicholson, and purchased , along with the grounds, by the City of Leeds in 1871.
Couldn't resist a snap of this family having a picnic lunch.

With luck this weather is going to last until March.
Then what I wonder? !!!
