Getting the sparkle back

Hawthornden Castle

In Roslin Glen, Midlothian. It was built between the 15th and 17th centuries and is now run as a writers' retreat.

I hadn't been to Roslin Glen for several years as a landslip had destroyed the path. However, it was possible to walk along the top of the glen before descending to the river at the end of the glen and returning via Hewan Wood and the grounds of the Mountmarle Animal Research Centre. Another time I will see how far you can get along the glen on the original path and if it's then possible to make your way to the top of  the glen without having to retrace your steps to the start.

It was another glorious day and JH and I had a lovely time. It was JH's first visit to this part of the glen and I think she was impressed!
