Abstract Thursday: "Painterly Catkins"

Ingeborg has chosen "Painterly" for todays AT theme.

I took a photo of some catkins and put it through the "Artistry" app. In the end I couldn't decide between the "Impressionist" effect or the "Comic" effect so I put them both into Photoshop and merged them, selecting parts of each to appear in the final image.

I noticed that a fragment of something orange was stuck on the round catkin at the top of the branch: with a bit of imagination I thought it looked a bit like a tiny chick's head with an orange beak. See what you think - maybe I'm being a bit fanciful! (I've isolated this part of the photo in the thumbnail.)
