Dogwood in Sunlight

With each passing day the snow recedes a little bit more, revealing new interest to photograph. Although still below freezing and plenty of snow about, I found this scene with no snow and it was so refreshing to see.

I tried to show the contrast between the red dogwood branches and the yellows of the grasses and willow tree in the distance. It was a bright sunny day with blue sky. Maybe I should have excluded the sky to focus on my subject?

As spring approaches, I'm beginning to wonder how I will adapt to no snow, having had to cope with it day in/day out for so long. It won't be predictable and I will have to find new opportunities. But that's the fun of it I suppose.
