A Life Well Lived

Backblip
Today we attended the funeral of Mick, who was my Step-daughters' much-loved grand-dad.  He was elderly and his quality of life was poor and so his death was not unexpected.  The funeral was very moving and two of his grand-daughters paid tribute to him by means of a poem and reading.
Mick spent many years as a Morris Dancer and when he was unable to dance any longer then he played an melodion for them instead.  Many of the members of his Morris group came along to the funeral and not only played as we left the crematorium, but also at the wake afterwards, and their music and dancing brought back many happy memories for his widow and family.
Mick achieved such a lot in his life and did so much for others, his was definitely a 'life well lived'.  RIP Mick, you were always such a 'gentle man' in all senses of the word.
