3.14 Pie

Written in US format 14 March is 3.14.. L our son, doing Maths at Uni, is attending the departments "Pi Ball" this evening. By definition it must be held on Pi day
Pi is the ratio of a circle diameter to circumference length and given to 2 decimal places is 3.14.
He has the kilt hired for the evening although apparently it would be permiited to go dressed as a pie. (I don't think anyone does.)
Students of other subjects can go and you don't even have to talk about the value expressed to several trillion more decimal places.
I thought I would pay some respect to such a significant date on the calendar by mentioning it here.
I helped Mrs SJR with some errands in the town. Don't be fooled by the wee patch of blue sky here. It has been raining hard much of Pi day.
