A Day Worth Recording

Warder

OK, so there's a bit of a theme at the moment.

We eventually decided on a shield design.  I now know more about heraldry than I intended to; which includes finding that the (two, utterly different) 'family' coats of arms that 'ancestry' providers provided my father are, by definition, a load of bollocs as coats of arms relate to a person and their descendents; not to a surname.

So we invented something.

The character is styled on the 'Lewis' Viking chess pieces.  It's a "Warder" - the precursor to the Rook.

Picking up yesterday's comment about nails, that large black stain at the bottom is caused by a nail not yet found, some way further down the tree.
