A lake and a glacier

Because I am back-blipping this 3 days later I cannot remember which lake this was.

We are (were) staying at a lovely lodge overlooking the Lago General Carrera with a fantastic view from our room (more later)

This lovely view greeted us when we went for a 4 hour hike from our lodge.

the scenery round here is breathtaking.  When we sat down with our travel agent to work out our itinerary we chose to come to this isolated area of Patagonia rather than the more touristy Chilean Lake District.

We are so glad we made this choice.  It is way off the normal tourist route and absolutely stunning.  The reason why there are no tourists is because the road is long and very rough and unpaved and there are very few hotels.  The places there are however are really good.
