The second half of life..

Transformation

Thought I'd go back and see how Mr Caterpillar was doing, fully expecting him to be a chrysalis by now.  I was very surprised to see him still hanging there, albeit a bit darker and less vibrant than yesterday (#1).  Took a few pics and popped back a few more times during the day in the hope of catching him actually shedding his coat.  The first pic was taken at 9.49am, the second at 1.27pm and the final one at 3.47pm, so somewhere in that 140 minute window between #2 and #3 he transformed and I missed it.

On a more sombre note, the National remembrance service for victims of the Christchurch mosque attack was held today at Hagley Park, just a stone's throw away from the atrocities of two weeks ago.  What a special event.  The bravery of the people whose lives have been changed forever is unbelievable, but the compassion and the forgiveness demonstrated by the Muslim community who have been so savagely hurt by just one man, is a lesson for so many of us.  Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, accepted an invitation to join the memorial service where he played the hauntingly profound 'Peace Train'.  Beautiful.
