Island Queen, Tayinloan

9.8C with thin cloud to start clearing to sunny sunshine. Moderate NNW/NW breeze.

Apothecary7's day off.

With the early thin cloud clearing and the sun making an appearance we decided to drive up the West road to Tayinloan and walk along the beach to visit the wreck of the Island Queen. As we started off along the beach the ferry was just arriving on the short crossing from Gigha. The tide was well out and there was lots of firm sand to walk along.

We walked along the beach to see the wreck of the Island Queen, then carried on walking along the beach towards the bay at Point Sands holiday (caravan) park. The view across Gigha to Jura was great today, with the hills very clear.

As we wandered back to Tayinloan the ferry was just coming in from Gigha again and the time was approaching 1pm.

We went for lunch at Glenbarr. We had thought we would have lunch in the hothouse, where we can take Fergus, but the outside seats and tables had been set out so we picked the most sheltered table and had lunch sitting in the sunshine.
