A new washing machine

Our old washing machine broke down yesterday.
For some days it had been making such a terrible noise during the spin cycle that is sounded as if it were a space ship about to be launched into space.
Now we have a new washing machine. I just expect this one will last as long as the old one, I am afraid of what they call planned obsolescence!
