Mothering Sunday

Not the usual photo for Mothering Sunday, is it, but I had a happy day.

After church we met Miss Flum for lunch at the Leadburn Inn, where this hen was wandering round the rear carpark. I think it's a Belgian bearded d'uccle header, which has wonderfully feathered legs.

At home Master Flum  and the Flumlet came round with a gift and cards (the Flumlet wrote his own for the first time - one to treasure). While the elder males watched the F1 race we carried on with our usual activities, including checking the pond for frogs - and we discovered a large blob of spawn! I am especially pleased with this as the fox fished two frogs from the pond the other night and there have been fewer this year.

After our late night last night and the loss of one hour as the clocks turned forward, I am now slumped in front of Blue planet Live, with a contented smile.
